We contacted Kelly immediately before discharge from acute rehab. She did a timely review of our needs and sent Jimmy McGriffith to install grab bars and railings, also in a timely manner. In addition Jimmy did a great job of installing railings under circumstances of high traffic on the stairway and unfortunately low light. We are currently exploring the process of installing a ramp between our door and driveway. Jimmy is scheduled to visit tomorrow to discuss the project. Freedom mobility seems to be an efficient response for a very prevalent scope of needs.

My recent association as an "Elder in need" with Freedom & Mobility, exceeded my expectations. My first encounter with your fine organization, was with Kelly Cureton when she visited me for a home assessment. Kelly immediately gained my confidence with her engaging behavior, knowledge, and comprehensive understanding of my current disability needs.
She informed me of the numerous options I had and suggested a connection be made with Howard County Department of Aging. It was through Kelly's inspiration, resilience, experience and sincere desire to help me, that I received funding from the Department of Aging for Grab Bars and a Lift Chair. From Kelly's action and counsel I have gained a more enhanced level of mobility, safety, comfort and independence. Ms. Cureton has the heart of an inspirational caregiver and is a wonderful "gift" to your organization.
I also had the personal pleasure of meeting Jimmy Griffin who installed my bathroom Grab Bars. Mr. Griffin is a true artisan. It was fascinating to watch this talented and skilled professional at work. During installation, Jimmy also consulted with me numerous times to be sure I was comfortable with the positioning of the safety devices. They are great!

"First of all, Kelly Cureton came to our house and evaluated our house for my husband to come home. I had the sense that she was there to help me, that she cared about the fact that my husband had two broken shoulders and brain and lung cancer, and that she wanted our house to be safe for him.
Her suggestions all made sense. She was not in any way trying to get us to buy things that we did not need. Also, we were welcome to buy any of the items on our own. After Kelly left, my daughter and I figured out what we could do on our own and what we needed an expert to do. We ordered a bench for the bathtub, and the installation of 4 railings in the wall beside the stairs. We bought and installed hand rails in the bathroom on our own.
We chose a color for the hand railings and the stain on the railings is beautiful. The man who installed the railings and put together the bench for the bathroom did an excellent job. He worked quietly and did a good job.
It is my pleasure to recommend freedom mobility to anyone in need of modifications to their house due to the illness of a loved one."
