Difference

I can't thank Kelly and her staff enough for how helpful and caring they have been during my mother's recovery. It is obvious that they have the client's best interests in mind. I highly recommend this company!

Why not resolve to become more mobile in 2017? There are many ways to implement more physical activity into your daily life that also benefit other aspects of your well-being. Let’s take a look at a few:

Take More Walks

The best way to be more mobile is to get up and move around more often. Whether it’s just down the hall or through your neighborhood, taking a walk is great for your physical and mental health and can add a little variety to your normal daily activities. Sitting for long periods of time can do damage to your muscles and joints over time. Set at least 15 minutes out of your day or week to take a walk either alone or with a friend or neighbor and you’ll feel the positive effects in no time at all.

Visit Old Friends

As long as it doesn’t require extensive travel, get out of the house and visit old friends or family members that you haven’t seen in a while. Visit family members in their homes or meet friends for lunch or coffee. You can even implement other mobile activities during these visits by taking walks with those you visit or performing fun, lightly physical activities or hobbies with them. If you can walk to your meeting place, that’s always a plus!

Create an Exercise Routine

Implementing an exercise regimen into your week with light exercise can do great things for your mental and physical health. It allows you to take a break from normal everyday activities that limit your mobility or keep you in a seated, immobile position. It also helps increase your overall strength and can make other physical activities that were once challenging much easier to complete. The benefits of exercise are endless, so incorporate some into your daily or weekly routine this year.

Get Outside

If you live in an area where stores and shops are close by, consider walking to your nearest destinations. Schedule more activities that take place outside, like visiting local parks or going to the zoo. Explore new areas of your town when the weather is nice and enjoy the sunshine while becoming more mobile!

Find a New Hobby

There are plenty of hobbies you can take up that involve some light physical activity! Gardening is a great example – it lets you enjoy nice weather and gives you a physical, long-term project to work on. Swimming, yoga, and dance are some other hobbies that can keep you moving while providing a new, fun experience.
